IRYS Pro Key

What is the IRYS Pro key?
The IRYS Pro Key is a USB drive containing the IRYS Pro Program. The Pro Key allows you to collect networked device print data without having to install anything on your network.

How does the Pro key work?
The IRYS Pro Key performs an SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) scan on each IP address located within the network. The relevant print data, including page counts, error codes, supply levels and current status, is pulled and tabulated for your analysis.

What data will the Pro key provide me?
The IRYS Pro Key will provide you with data regarding the following:

IRYS Print Management

What is IRYS Print Management?
IRYS Print Management is a powerful, easy to use system that provides visibility to valuable printing information on your network by remotely monitoring your printers, multifunction devices, copiers, and fax machines.

How does IRYS work?
After the installation of the DCA (Data Collector Agent) IRYS uses SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) to gather your network print data. This data is then sent to the IRYS Secure Server and pushed to the IRYS Print Management web portal. You will then be able to view data by logging into your account at www.irysprintmanagement.com. Once logged-in you will have access to your network’s printing information, allowing you to make educated decisions to help take control of printing costs.

What is the Data Collection Agent?
The Data Collection Agent (DCA) is the program that is installed on your network. Once installed it will scan your networks IP range, and report the collected data back to the IRYS Secure Server.

How does the IRYS DCA work?
The IRYS DCA collects device data using SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) and ICMP (Internet Control Message Protocol) and optional PJL (Print Job Language). The DCA gathers this data at regular pre-set intervals from all printer, and multi-function peripheral devices on a clients network. Once a scan is complete, the DCA will send the collected data to the secure IRYS server to be uploaded into the Print Management program.

What do I need to install the IRYS Data Collection Agent (DCA)?
The minimum requirements to install the IRYS DCA are:
Port 21, Port 80, or Port 443 must be open for transmission of data.
Computer system that is connected to the network.
Windows 2000/XP
100mbit or higher Network Card
256mb of RAM
Internet connected browser
Computer system should be powered on at all times for maximum efficiency
Computer system does not need to be a dedicated system.

What data will IRYS Print Management provide?
IRYS Print Management will provide information on:
Page Counts
Supply Levels
Device Location
Cost per page
Device Utilization
Model
Serial #
Error code reports
Maintenance schedules
IP Addresses

Who can access my IRYS Print Management data?
IRYS Print Management data can be viewed with a log-in and password. Each account will have an administrator with the ability to add or remove individuals from accessing their account data.

Will IRYS recognize anything other than printers?
Yes. As long as the machine is SNMP MIB-compliant IRYS will gather information from Printers, Copiers and Multifunction Devices.

Will IRYS collect any personal data?
No. IRYS will collect only data stored in the memory of the printing device; such as page counts, toner levels, device description, etc.

How long will it take to install the DCA on my network, and start scanning my network?
The DCA may be installed in as little as 5 minutes, and will start scanning your network and collecting data immediately.

How secure is the IRYS Print Management solution?
To ensure security, the IRYS Print Management server is housed in a Class A data center. The Data center has over 8 fiber optic backbones to ensure continuous data flow and a triple redundancy energy system to prevent loss of power, security checks for all employees with access to the server and the data is mirrored every day to prevent loss. The server is protected by an ISA software firewall that is completely locked down to only allow required communication through ports 21, 80, and 1443.
